An attorney, member of Knesset and former Minister of Communications. Has also served as Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, Chairman of the Knesset House Committee and Mayor of Raanana. Has 23 years of experience in local government and was the first and only openly gay mayor in Israel. Brings extensive experience in managing public systems and in leading municipal projects in both planning and construction and transportation and infrastructure. Has also consistently fought against onerous bureaucracy and overregulation that are a burden on Israelis, and led the charge to allocate the first-ever funding for the promotion of LGBT community through the government and local authorities.
